A home is the largest investment most people will make. It is also where they feel safest. Across Southeast Asia, the experience of maintaining or improving that home has been broken for decades.
Contractors take deposits and disappear. Tradespeople do not return calls. Renovations run years over schedule. Even when a friend recommends someone, the workers have changed, the business has moved on, or the person simply has no time for a new job.
This is a US$100 billion industry, and for most of its history it has been running on word-of-mouth, paper invoices, and hope.
Jes Min and Alex started Reco Tech because they had both lived this firsthand. Building a family home, hiring tradespeople, dealing with contractors who took deposits and disappeared. The same broken experience across categories, across borders, across years. No Grab or Shopee equivalent for finding someone you could trust with the most valuable thing most people own.
So they built one.
Recommend.my launched in 2014 in Malaysia. Sejasa.com followed in 2016 in Indonesia. Reco Tech Pte Ltd was established in 2026 as the new holding company for both businesses, continuing the work of the original group. Today, Reco Tech operates the leading home and property services marketplaces in both markets.

We chose deliberately not to copy-paste the same brand across Southeast Asia.
Trust in home services is built locally, in local language, with names that sound right in each market. Recommend speaks to Malaysian homeowners. Sejasa, which means "service" in Indonesian, speaks to Indonesians. Reco Tech is the company that owns and operates both.
It is a more expensive way to build a regional business. We think it is the right one.
Reco Tech does not employ contractors. We do not own vans, carry inventory, or send our own technicians to your home.
We build the platform that connects more than 5,000 independent service professionals and small businesses to the homeowners who need them. On top of that, we layer the things traditional contracting cannot offer at scale: instant pricing for standard jobs, cashless payments, multi-quote matching for larger projects, service warranties, and public liability insurance protection.
The standardisation sits in the platform. The work stays with skilled professionals in their local communities. Both sides benefit.
The group operates across four lines of business in both countries. Home maintenance covers cleaning, aircon servicing, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repairs. Home improvement covers renovations, painting, carpentry, flooring, and interior design. Our Installer Network partners with major retailers to deliver post-purchase installation services to their customers. Facilities Maintenance serves multi-outlet businesses that need consistent upkeep across many locations.
Across these four lines, we cover more than one hundred service categories in both Malaysia and Indonesia.
